On Monday 4 September 2006, Sebastian Tombs, the Chief Executive of Architecture + Design Scotland opened this development.

Mr Tombs (on left) welcomed Mr and Mrs Cassidy to their new home. Mr Tombs said:

“Architecture and Design Scotland , set up some 18 months ago as Scotland ‘s champion for good architecture and urban design, has been asked by Ministers to look at housing. It is thus a pleasure to visit a project where the client has so obviously worked hard with the architects and planners to provide not only house types that reflect current and future needs, but also a sense of identity that is specific to this place.

Ayrshire Housing is a good example of the way in which a client can make a very significant difference to the quality of an area – and its string of awards is testament to its ambition.
